A nightmarish opening 18 minutes in horrendous conditions, during which we conceded 3-9, ensured that the points went to Tourmakeady for Kilmeena U16s' opening League Div. 3 match. Our boys tried their best to contain this slick Tourmakeady side but found it difficult to contain their relentless running and link-up play. After the initial rout, our lads steadied the ship somewhat with some heroic defending and had a few half chances of their own before the welcome half-time whistle. The lads came out fighting after the break and actually outpointed Tourmakeady in the second half, leaving the final score Tourmakeady 3-13, Kilmeena 1-2.
The boys couldn’t be faulted for their effort but there’s plenty to work on before the next game, at home to Swinford on Thursday 28th March,
