U13s feel the heat in Tourmakeady

Google Maps tells us that it takes 38 minutes to drive from Kilmeena to Tourmakeady. The reverse journey felt a lot longer after a punishing Thursday evening there in 20 degree heat. In footballing terms, the difference felt the same as top-of-the-table Tourmakeady ran riot with their athleticism and skill - they were simply too hot to handle. We actually played reasonably well in the first and second quarters but come the third, our heads dropped and the floodgates opened.

As we approach our final two games (mercifully, at home, first against Kiltimagh this coming Thursday and then the following Thursday against Burrishoole) we'll need to retain and build upon the positive attitude we showed during our first half performance and who knows what might happen?

Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all.

Emily Dickinson
