Kilmeena and Breaffy U17 Boys had the privilege of being the first teams to play on the newly resurfaced pitch in St Brendan's Park yesterday evening. And they weren't the only mortals to enjoy the outing! The large crowd that turned out for the opening round of the U17 Boys A championship appreciated the new pristine surface marked to perfection by Club groundsman Paul Feehan. The game lived up to expectations providing those present with a superb display of footballing skills and some excellent score taking by both sides. However, Breaffy, having led the home team throughout the match, finally succumbed to the sustained pressure exerted by the Kilmeena boys in the final few minutes of the game, taking the honours with the help of a goal in the dying moments.
