Kilmeena GAA club were delighted to host the visit by Minister of State for Sport and the Gaeltacht, Jack Chambers, and Senator Lisa Chambers on Thursday, August 18th. The Minister was impressed to see the various projects undertaken by the club had been realised. The tour included the new comprehensively equipped gym and the "homely" recreational room the senior ladies and men's teams created to promote an ambience of player comfort, inclusivity, and relaxation. Their timely arrival coincided with installing new dugouts servicing both playing pitches. The club is thankful for the sports capital support received to date for the improvement in the amenities and his department's funding contribution to this development.
Also visiting Kilmeena GAA club were councillors Brendan Mulroy, Christy Hyland and Peter Flynn. Unavoidably absent from the visit was councillor John O'Malley.
