Junior Ladies end-of-season review

Our year started promising with good numbers registered and the prospect of building on our inaugural year in 2018 with experienced adult players and girls from the minor and U16 teams making up the panel. David O’Malley continued in the management role assisted by John McDonald. Majella O’Malley and Trish Hogan helped as mentors. The team competed in League, Championship and the Memorial League, which is a new competition run at the start of the season for players not involved with the senior county panel.

Although we did not have much success on the field, we competed well in our games and were showing signs of improvement. The panel was unfortunate to lose girls through injury, travel, study and family commitments just as they were beginning to show signs of improvement. This all happened in a very short timeframe and effected the balance and momentum at a vital time in the season. There is plenty of talent in this group and in the girls that are coming up behind them. With belief and commitment in themselves and the right focus, they can achieve success in the coming seasons.
