The minor ladies produced a wonderful performance to reach their first county final in front of a great crowd in Kilmeena on Wednesday evening. They contested every ball from the off and raced into a lead which they never looked in danger of losing. Excellent scores by Ciara Joyce, Shannon Bourke, Aoife Lavelle and Sarah Harper left The Neale reeling after 20 minutes. A goal by Aoife Roache and points by Laura Moore, Jamie Geraghty and Sophie Flynn left the halftime score 4 -13 to 0 - 3. Kilmeena started the second half where they left off fighting for every ball and defending brilliantly. Some good saves by Susannah Horgan and controlled football ensured this Kilmeena team would reach their first final. On a near-perfect performance, the defence was excellent, Katie Hogan was brilliant throughout and score taking was outstanding.
