The first round of the Junior Championship started yesterday evening in St. Brendan's Park when Kilmeena and Tourmakeady lined out. The evening was a little wet and left the ground a little greasy but full credit to the ground staff the field was in great condition. The game was well contested but Kilmeena were creating the better scoring chances. Tourmakeady kept themselves in the game by scoring goals. Half time score Kilmeena 1 - 12 Tourmakeady 2 - 01.
The second half played out pretty much as the first but Kilmeena turned the ball over too easily with poor pass execution. Also kick some poor wide shots. Again Tourmakeady scored goals to keep the game interesting.
All in all it was a good performance and great to get off to a winning start.
On a side note the management and team would like to wish David Stenson all the best in the future. He has been a great club man.
Kilmeena Abu!
